One Handy Man.

By: Tova W., Done. Seeker

My friend and I moved into a new apartment a month ago and since it was basically just a big open space, we needed to get two walls built. We were dreading the whole thing - desperately thinking of ways to avoid paying $2,000 through a sketchy New York wall-building company. Unfortunately, I failed when trying to build the wall myself (how hard could it be to build a wall? Answer: hard.). And although my father thought he’d be able to pull it off, that was a failure too. I was tempted to find a construction site and ask one of the workers there, but soon realized that that could be a recipe for disaster.

Then I heard about about Done. and we kissed our woes goodbye! We’d be able to avoid going through a busy, impersonal company and support a freelancer and even make a new friend in the process. I posted a task on the website and almost immediately heard back that Eric W. was willing to take on the job. And for a great price!

The experience was an awesome one. Eric was eager to come measure and check out the digs and the walls were built within the week. We felt totally comfortable having Eric in our apartment all day and he was nice to come home to. But most of all, we were so thankful for the opportunity to hire someone that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to find.

Thanks again, Eric! You rock!

(Now what color do you think we should paint the kitchen??)
